Applications are now open for our Spring 2024 grant round. We offer top-up research grants of up to $500 to Brown graduate students working on any topic related to early cultures, and larger-scale funding for Brown faculty, postdocs, and graduate students planning research-focused events or course development; funding for small workshops is often in the $1000-2000 range, and we have made grants for major conferences of $5000-$10000. We also support graduate-student led groups based on a common research theme, who may apply for a block grant of up to $2000 to cover activities over a full academic year. We are particularly keen to hear from people planning events in future academic years; for large conferences we suggest applying at least a year in advance.
